Our Privacy Commitment
Databus has never sold your information to someone else for advertising, or made money by showing you other people's ads, and we never will. This has been our approach for almost 2 years, and we remain committed to it.
This is a summary of our new privacy policy which takes effect on May 25th, 2025. It covers every Databus website that links here, and all of the products and services contained on those websites.
Scope of this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to all Databus websites that link to it. It also applies to the products and services provided by Databus through these websites, our mobile applications, and applications posted by Databus on online marketplaces. This policy is divided into three parts:
- Part I: Information Databus collects and controls (website visitors, potential customers).
- Part II: Information Databus processes on your behalf (data you entrust to us using our apps).
- Part III: General topics (Security, Changes, etc).
Part I – Information Databus Collects and Controls
We collect information about you only if we need the information for some legitimate purpose.
1. Information that you provide us
- Account signup: When you sign up, we ask for your name, contact number, email address, company name, and country.
- Event registrations: Recorded when you register for webinars, subscribe to newsletters, or download whitepapers.
- Payment processing: We store the name, address, expiry date, and last four digits of the credit card. We do not store the actual credit card number.
- Interactions: We may record email, telephone, and chat conversations with our support team to improve service.
2. Information that we collect automatically
- Browsers & Devices: IP address, browser type, language, time zone, and referring URL.
- Cookies: We use first-party cookies to track website navigation and enhance user experience. We do not use third-party cookies.
- Application Logs: Information about your use of our products (clicks, features accessed, storage utilized) to improve performance.
3. Information from third parties
This includes signups using Federated Authentication (Google/LinkedIn), referrals from partners, and interactions on social media sites.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide the services you've requested, create and maintain your accounts, and keep an eye out for unauthorized activity. Specific uses include:
- To communicate with you about products, policy changes, or important notices.
- To keep you posted on new products, upcoming events, and offers.
- To provide customer support and analyze interactions.
- To detect and prevent fraudulent transactions and illegal activities.
Legal Basis: For EEA individuals, we process data based on contractual necessity, legitimate interests, or your consent.
Your Rights (EEA Users)
If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following rights. Databus undertakes to provide you these rights no matter where you live:
- Right to access: Obtain a copy of your personal data.
- Right to rectification: Update or correct inaccuracies.
- Right to erasure: Request deletion of personal information.
- Right to restriction: Restrict processing of your data.
- Right to data portability: Transfer your info to a third party.
- Right to object: Object to direct marketing or processing.
Part II – Information Processed on Your Behalf
If you handle other people's data using Databus apps (e.g., your student or tenant data), you are entrusting that data to us for processing.
Ownership and Control
You own your service data. We protect it, limit access to it, and only process it according to your instructions. You may access it, share it through third-party integrations, and request that we export or delete it.
Retention
We hold the data in your account as long as you choose to use Databus Services. After you terminate your account, data is deleted from the active database within 6 months and backups within 3 months.
Part III – General
Children’s Personal Information
Our products are not directed to individuals under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
Security
We implement appropriate administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to prevent unauthorized access, use, modification, disclosure, or destruction of the information you entrust to us.
Do Not Track (DNT)
We do not currently honor Do Not Track signals from internet browsers; when a universal standard emerges, we will follow it.
Notification of Changes
We may modify the Privacy Policy at any time. If we make significant changes, you will be provided with at least 30 days' advance notice by email. Your continued use after the effective date will be deemed to be your agreement to the modified policy.
