Four challenges · solved

Why Social Science papers take longer than English or Maths.

Pillar 1
🗺️

India map work in Word is impossible

A 3-mark Geography map question needs an unlabeled India physical map with specific locations marked correctly. Teachers either screenshot a blurry NCERT PDF map (distorts on A4 print) or use Word's autoshapes to approximate India's outline (looks unprofessional). State boundaries shift, coastlines straighten, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands disappear.

Solved: HD vector library — India political, India physical, World political, plus specialized historical and thematic maps. One-click insertion, scales perfectly at any print size.

Pillar 2
📜

Source-based extracts take an hour to type

A 4-mark Case Study on 'The Print Revolution' or 'Sectors of the Indian Economy' needs a primary source extract (200-300 words) followed by multi-part analytical questions. Faculty either retype the NCERT excerpt manually (60 minutes per source) or paste low-quality OCR text with formatting errors. NEP requires 12 marks of these per paper.

Solved: Source-based extract library across all four disciplines. Pre-paired multi-part questions. One-click insertion. No retyping.

Pillar 3
⚖️

Value-point marking inconsistency

A 5-mark Long Answer ("Explain the impact of the Great Depression on the Indian economy") needs the 5 specific value points students must address for full marks. Different teachers in the same department mark inconsistently — one rewards mentioning "rural distress," another doesn't. Students complain about uneven grading; HOD spends hours moderating.

Solved: Value-point answer keys auto-generated for every subjective question. Same format CBSE board evaluators use. Department-wide consistency enforced.

Pillar 4
🏛️

Class 10 structure changed in 2025-26

CBSE moved Class 10 Social Science from marks-based A-E sections (by question type) to subject-based 4-section structure (History 20 + Geography 20 + Civics 20 + Economics 20). Teachers using last year's template generate the wrong paper format. Each section needs internal balance of MCQ/VSA/SA/LA/Case-Based with map work in only History and Geography.

Solved: 2025-26 4-section structure applied by default for Class 10 SST. Section-wise question type balance enforced. Map placement correct (History 2 marks + Geography 3 marks). Case Study placement correct (History/Geography/Civics, not Economics).

"Creating a Social Science paper used to mean juggling four disciplines, calculating weightages across History, Geography, Civics, and Economics, and spending an hour trying to format a blank map of India in MS Word without distorting it. Then in August 2024 CBSE released the new sample paper — four subject sections instead of A-E by marks. Three of our 10 Social Science teachers had already drafted internal assessments using the old template. We had to scrap and redo. With this platform, the 2025-26 four-section structure is enforced by default. Map insertion is one click. The source-based extracts come pre-paired with multi-part questions — we used to spend an hour just typing out a 'Print Revolution' excerpt from the NCERT and writing the four sub-questions. And the value-point answer keys mean my junior faculty grade Class 10 mocks consistently with the senior teachers."

Every SST question typology

From "locate this on the map" to "analyze this source."

MCQs (20 questions)

1 mark each. Single-correct selection, plus Assertion-Reasoning subtype (Civics, History cause-effect), Match the Following subtype, Picture-Based subtype, Statement Analysis subtype.

⚖️

Assertion-Reasoning

Both Assertion and Reason are NCERT-derived; students determine if both correct and whether Reason explains Assertion. Common in Nationalism in Europe (History), Power Sharing (Civics), Resources & Development (Geography).

VSA (4 questions × 2 marks)

~40 words. Definition, factual recall, brief explanation. Examples: define federalism, name 3 sites of Indian National Movement, state two features of secularism.

📝

Short Answer (SA)

3-4 marks. Multi-point explanation, 2-3 examples, cause-effect analysis. Examples: explain three impacts of globalisation on Indian agriculture, describe federalism features in India.

📋

Long Answer (LA)

5-mark essays. Detailed argument with 5 value points. Examples: impact of Great Depression on Indian economy, role of credit in economic development, causes of Civil Disobedience Movement.

🌍

Case Study (12 marks total)

NEP competency-based. 4 marks each in History (e.g., Print Revolution), Geography (Lifelines of Economy), Civics (Power Sharing). Primary source + multi-part questions.

🗺️

Map-Based (5 marks total)

2 marks in History (locate Indian National Movement sites — Champaran, Dandi, Lahore session). 3 marks in Geography (identify dams, soil types, ports, software parks).

🖼️

Picture-Based

MCQ subtype using historical images, political cartoons, or geographical photographs. Tests visual interpretation alongside conceptual knowledge.

📊

Data Tables (Economics)

Statistical tables on sectoral contribution to GDP, employment data, banking statistics, consumer rights cases. Students analyze and answer interpretation questions.

NEP 2020 competency-based questions requiring primary source reading + multi-part analytical answering. Examples — History: 'The Print Revolution' or 'Nationalism in Europe'. Geography: 'Lifelines of National Economy' or 'Sectors of the Indian Economy' data. Civics: 'Power Sharing' or 'Federalism' scenarios. Platform's source-based extract library generates these with auto-paired multi-part questions.

Does the platform include India and World maps?

+

Yes. HD vector map library — India political (states, UTs, capitals, major rivers), India physical (mountains, plateaus, rivers, deserts, coastlines), World political (continents, countries, major capitals), specialized historical maps (Indian National Movement sites, Mughal Empire extent, British India administrative divisions, Partition), Geography thematic maps (soil distribution, agricultural zones, mineral deposits, industrial regions, climate zones). All unlabeled for testing identification, HD vector for any print size, one-click insertable. Standard CBSE map symbols.

How does the source-based extract library work?

+

Source-based extracts are the cornerstone of NEP 2020 SST assessment. Platform generates A-R questions with pedagogically sound logical relationships and clear answer-key explanations.

How does the value-point answer key for long-answer questions work?

+

Subjective SST answers require value-point marking — specific concepts the student must address, not a generic paragraph. For a 5-mark LA ('Explain the impact of the Great Depression on the Indian economy'), platform rubric lists the 5 core Value Points — (1) Agricultural prices collapse causing rural distress, (2) Indian exports decline affecting peasant incomes, (3) British policy shift toward protectionism, (4) Increased anti-colonial sentiment fueling Civil Disobedience, (5) Long-term impact on nationalism and self-sufficiency demands. Same value-point format CBSE board evaluators use. Ensures fair, consistent grading across multiple teachers.
