Priced per employee. That's the whole model.
One rate per employee, per month, in rupees, for the whole platform. Start free, see the rate transparently at sign-up, and pay for the headcount you actually run.
How PeopleDeck pricing works
Your monthly bill is one multiplication: active employees × the per-employee rate. The rate is shown transparently when you create your account. Every capability is included: payroll with PF, ESI, PT and TDS applied, attendance and leave, onboarding to full-and-final, self-service and statutory file generation, all for every employee. There are no per-site fees, no module bundles to compare, and no plan matrix where the feature you need sits one tier up. Headcount is the only variable, because headcount is the only thing that changes what the system does for you.
Starting is free in the plain sense: create an account, import your people, set structures and run payroll on your own data, before any billing conversation happens. Most teams run one parallel month against their current process; the reconciliation is what earns the switch, and you should not have to pay to find out.

Per-employee vs per-institution: why the model matters
Software pricing models encode who the product is for. Databus's education ERPs are licensed the way institutions buy: SchoolDeck per school and CampusAlly per college. One licence buys the whole ERP, with payroll included as a module inside it. PeopleDeck is the opposite shape on purpose: a standalone HRMS any business signs up for, where a six-person studio pays six employees' worth and a six-hundred-person plant pays six hundred's. It is the same product either way, costing in proportion to what it runs.
The practical consequences: no licence negotiation before you can start, no re-platforming when you grow past a tier, and no paying for a peak you no longer run: seasonal and surge headcount bills for the months it existed. It also means the pricing page you are reading has no plan matrix to decode: the comparison worth making is not between our tiers, but between this model and the licence-shaped alternatives.
If you are a school or college weighing staff payroll, the right comparison is different: payroll inside your ERP, meaning SchoolDeck staff payroll or CampusAlly payroll, priced with the institution's licence rather than per employee.
What your bill does (and doesn't) react to
Moves the bill
- ✓ Active headcount: joiners add, settled leavers stop counting
- ✓ Nothing else
Doesn't move the bill
- ✕ How many locations, cost centres or pay groups you run
- ✕ Which capabilities you use (everything is included)
- ✕ How many runs you process (off-cycle and settlement runs included)
- ✕ How many admins, managers or approvers log in
One honest note on what this page doesn't show: the rupee rate itself. It is displayed at sign-up rather than printed here so that what you see is always the current rate, not a stale page, and because seeing it beside your own imported headcount is the only version of a pricing quote that means anything.
Pricing questions, answered
How is PeopleDeck priced?
Per employee, per month, in rupees. Your bill is the number of active employees on your rolls times the per-employee rate, which is shown transparently when you sign up. No per-site fees, no module bundles, no per-institution licence.
Is there a free way to start?
Yes: create an account free, add employees, set structures and run payroll. You see the product working on your own data before you pay for the headcount you keep running.
What does the per-employee price include?
The whole platform for that employee: payroll computation with PF, ESI, PT and TDS applied, attendance and leave, onboarding to full-and-final settlement, self-service payslips and Form 16 data, and upload-ready statutory files. Capability is not gated by plan tiers — headcount is the only variable.
What happens to the bill when employees join or leave?
The bill follows your active headcount. Joiners add from when they are added; leavers stop counting once settled and deactivated. Seasonal businesses pay for the season they actually ran, not a licence sized for their peak.
Why per-employee instead of a licence?
Because a standalone HRMS should cost in proportion to what it runs. Databus's education ERPs (SchoolDeck and CampusAlly) are licensed per school and per college, because an institution buys the whole ERP. PeopleDeck is bought by businesses of any size, so it prices on the unit that scales: the employee.
Are there setup fees or long-term contracts?
Self-serve setup is free: import employees, configure structures, run a parallel month. Billing is monthly against active headcount; there is no lock-in built into the pricing structure.
